Are you a long-term care worker looking to improve your skills in managing clients with dementia? Our Importance Of Environment and Dementia class is here to help!

  1. The caregiver will recognize and identify components of a Dementia-Friendly Community.

  2. The caregiver will identify changes that can be made in the long-term care environment to make it more dementia-friendly.

  3. The caregiver will demonstrate the ability to recognize the impact of color in the environment and eating.

  4. The caregiver will demonstrate the ability to recognize the impact of lighting in the environment.

  5. The caregiver will demonstrate the ability to recognize the impact of signage in the environment.

  6. The caregiver will be able to verbalize the components of a dementia-friendly home environment

 This course is WA DSHS approved for class credit and CE’s are required to work with long-term care populations. Credits can be used for Continuing Education or Population-Specific hours.

​This course will be taught online via Zoom and followed by the examination.  A Zoom confirmation link will be sent to you via email prior to the day of class.

Certificate of completion will be given to you following successful completion of the examination after class.

​Must have book prior to class—this is required for class participation.
